This study assessed the impact of a standardized cold therapy protocol on pain and opioid consumption following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Patients who used cold therapy units after surgery experienced significantly lower pain levels and required fewer narcotic pain medications compared to those who did not use cold therapy. The findings demonstrate that cold therapy is an effective non-pharmacological approach to pain management after rotator cuff surgery, reducing both suffering and reliance on pain medications during recovery.
