Summary
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated randomized controlled trials comparing PRP injections to placebo in the treatment of tendinopathy. The pooled analysis revealed no significant differences in pain relief or functional improvement at various time points (4-6 weeks, 12 weeks, and 24 weeks or longer) between the PRP and placebo groups. The study concluded that PRP injections were not superior to placebo in managing tendinopathy.
